About ELEVATE BASKETBALL
I have been around basketball my entire life. I have a diverse background of over 45 years in basketball where I have years of experience as a player, coach, referee and parent. This gives me a unique ability to relate to everyone.
I played basketball through college. I first attended Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, TX. Our conference had 5 players in that went on to careers in the NBA. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth competing at the NAIA level. After college, I was invited to play in the Dallas Pro/Am league where for 2 years I competed with the best local college and NBA talent in the area.
With 2 older brothers, basketball came easy for me at a very young age. I worked hard at it and was motivated to improve. I was very successful through high school earning numerous honors. Once I entered college, I struggled adapting to a much more physical style of basketball. I was asked to redshirt as a freshman and wasn’t sure that I would be able to keep my dream alive of playing college basketball. After a lot of hard work refining my skillset, playing daily against my competition, understanding my areas of weakness and devoting myself to improving in these areas. I returned as a starter the following year and was named an Academic All-American.
I spent one season as an assistant coach for the women’s team at the University of Dallas. I have over 20 years of coaching experience at various levels, age groups and sports. I started officiating basketball in high school and continue today officiating club and high school basketball in the greater St. Louis area.
I also lead a men’s bible study group. My faith is central to who I am!
